Bennett's First Birthday Party

Bennett's first birthday party was rocket shipped themed since he was a rocket ship for Halloween, it seemed fitting.  Some of my favorite memories of Bennett's first birthday party are making his "party table" and decorating the wall above the party table with pictures Nathan took during his first year of life.  We made a collage of the pictures, hung it on the wall and afterwards we noticed  the collage was in the shape of a heart, it was an awesome coincidence!!  Another favorite memory is Paxton and I made all of the cupcakes and his rocket ship cake, let me be clear we used cake mixes, but I will still take credit for making the icing and icing the cupcakes and cake.  The reason for mentioning Paxton and I made the cupcakes and cake is we baked the cake last.  We didn't add enough water and over baked it.  It was burnt and weirdly fluffy.  I felt guilty that we messed it up, but Bennett didn't mind.  He ate plenty of cake. Another memory important to note is that my mom spent most of the afternoon before the party decorating and preparing food.  She made every chicken salad sandwich we served for dinner.  I don't want to forget how much all of our family pitched in with food, drinks and clean-up.  It was a great day to be outside and celebrate Bennett's first year of life.

Grandma Fran's 80th Birthday

Bob's Grandma Fran turned 80. She is a pretty amazing woman who raised 5 children, is an amazing cook and seamstress just to name a few things. She makes snow suits and pillows for the boys. The pillows are a favorite for Paxton, he uses the frog and Dallas Cowboys pillow nightly.
